I have read where people routinely dunk their fresh out of the oven baked clay in an ice water bath. I wonder what this accomplishes and what the outcome difference is compared to air cooling. Also, does it have to be ice water, or can you hold it under the cold water from the sink to save on having to get the ice bath set up. This could be a problem for some larger pieces plus leaves you with having to have containers set aside for this process (in case of contaminating the ice water container?)
