Delightful Puff Beads - Part 2
In part 1 you made all the bead halves It is now time to put them together into puff beads.

Step 1:
Sand the edges well so that they are smooth and even. |

Step 2:
Glue two bead halves together with super glue. Repeat with the other beads. The two halves must be from the same sheet. |

Step 3:
Condition some black clay well, and feed it into the clay gun. Use one of the medium round discs and extrude a long snake. |

Step 4:
Apply liquid polymer clay along the joint line on the beads. Then roll the black snake around it. Cut the ends so that they look nice and smooth. Press it carefully onto the bead, so that you are sure it is thoroughly attached. Repeat with all the beads, and cure them again for 30 minutes. |

Step 5:
When the beads are cold, sand the joints so that they are smooth and nice. Glaze the patterned beads, and the patterned parts of the black beads with liquid polymer clay. This way you will get a nice contrast between the textured black and the shiny patterned parts. |
Since these beads are hollow, it is very difficult to string them onto a beading wire. Instead drill a hole on each side of the bead. Cut a length of jewelry wire and make a loop on one side. Add the bead and close the wire with a loop on the other side. Repeat with all the beads. Join them with a small jump ring, add a clasp, and the necklace is ready to be worn.
